Balboa is a good blend of casual and refined. MR. G's is a comfortable enviroment with good food prepared to a standard not too often seen today. The dining rooms are clean and feel calm. The staff is attentive and professional. Customer service has consistently been A÷ so far. It not hard to tell that this bistro was born from a dream and a passuon to shower its guests as if all that enter immediately become family.!

There are no words in the dictionary to describe the service, Mr. G, and the Food is beyond delicious. The atmosphere is welcoming. Mr. G take time to greet each customer.

Wonderful service and great food.

Awesome place! Mr G’s was closed when we walked to it and the owner came out and opened the restaurant just for us. We were traveling from MN and the owner had great recommendations for things to do as well! The food was fantastic. We had two small children with us and the service was outstanding. Definitely recommend and would certainly visit again if in Newport Beach. You must stop and try Mr. G’s. The view is amazing as well. Mr G you are an amazing person. Thank you so much for all of your hospitality!

Really torn on my review for this place. I ordered the cacioe pepe, delicious. My party ordered salads, however, and one friend had a huge bug in her salad still alive. I understand this can happen, but it wasn't addressed until I asked the owner himself if he knew. He said no one told him. Then he continued to blame his staff instead of take the blame. Bugs happen, we weren't mad. They comped all the salads but still charged us the $20 cork fee to open our wine. The poor girl who almost ate the bug only got her salad comped that she didn't even eat.y salad was free and I ate it all. Just a weird experience all together.

I love this place. The service is fast and friendly, and the food is so yummy. I love their fried chicken and arugula salad. The restroom is very clean and when that is clean you know you're in an upscale restaurant. Most people j just dont care about their patrons but Mr. G treats you like you're family (and intelligent).

A true 5 stars. Our dinner for 2 was amazing. Meatball appetizer is great. The brussel sprout appetizer was the best I've tasted. The bread and olive oil, like nothing I've tasted before. Ricotto Cavaletti was memorable. Perfect dining experience.

They opened about 6 weeks ago in what used to be one of our favorite restaurants. It's a little fancy and the food was great. Overheard the new owner talking and I he is actually Italian with his own recipes. It was a little slow but they are new and I expect it will get even better. Good place worth going.

Staff was super friendly, food was awesome. Great for a date spot, or if you want to belly up to the upstairs bar and have some cocktails. A couple TV's up there too if you want to catch a game.Pro tip: try to reserve an upstairs patio table for dinner, views of the harbor are superb.

Amazing food, I got the steak and enjoyed it a lot. It's also in a convenient location, with great deserts to order, and also around the resteraunt.

Food is expensive and nothing special. The sommelier was excellent as was the wine. The waiter was inattentive, made mistakes, and corrected the guests, who were correct and the guests after all! It is a pretty little place but I won't go back.

I really wanted to like this place. We tried several dishes: meatball , broccoli, deviled eggs, the burrata and the lobster pasta. I really liked the deviled eggs and the broccoli however those are not the dishes I went to this very nice Italian restaurant and spent a hundred bucks a person for. Truly you could not believe there was actually Lobster in the lobster ravioli because you could not taste it at all. We did tell the waiter that we were disappointed. I was surprised they did not take this $28 meal off our bill. My friend has been there two other times and claims the burger and deviled eggs of the best things on the menu. Personally I don't go to expensive Italian restaurants for burgers however if that's what you're after it seems they do that very well. I wish I could give them two and a half Stars because the service was very good otherwise, however Google's app will not allow that. I'm going to err on the side of this being an off-night for them and give them three stars.
